中文大學崇基學院神學院副教授,靠神恩典在夾縫中游走於學術研究及實踐愛鄰召命的人。由教經濟轉化到教神學。牛津大學及劍橋大學訪問學人。研究興趣:羅馬帝國經濟與保羅書信。關懷貧窮學校創校校長及前工業福音團契總幹事。中文著作有《基督徒時代召命的10種堅持》、《看見鄰舍、看見使命》及《腓立比書:僕人榮光、受苦喜樂》等。
Dr. Alex Ip is a professor, writer, and advocate for economic justice. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics from The University of Hong Kong, as well as an M.Div and Ph.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at the Divinity School of Chung Chi College, CUHK. Dr. Ip has held prestigious academic positions, including Senior Visiting Scholar at the University of Oxford in 2021 and Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge in 2024.
In 2009, Dr. Ip founded the School of Poverty Caring and later served as CEO of a local NGO from 2014 to 2017. His research primarily explores the Roman economy and its implications for interpreting the New Testament. Among his notable publications are A Socio-Rhetorical Interpretation of the Letter to Philemon in Light of the New Institutional Economics (Mohr Siebeck, 2017) and Engaging New Institutional Economics and New Testament Studies (Fortress Academic, 2025). Additionally, he has authored several books in Chinese on related topics.
